Hey Cara, welcome to the forum, I'm sorry to say that u have to be 14 before u apply for the X Factor, and u say ur birthday is on June 17th? U have to be 14 before April 1st, so it might be worth u waiting till 2010 to apply, when you'll be old enough, but even so. I'll still give u a breif outline of the audition process, just so u know what goes on throughout the day! 1st of all, when u get ur audition letter, u go to the audition, which will be in front of 1, 2 or maybe even 3 producers (I was given 1 last year) they'll either say yes, ur thru, and hand u a red slip or, no ur not thru, and send u on ur way. If they tell u that ur thru, then they'll whisk u off to do a short tv interview, then after that, they'll send u off to do a 15 - 20 min chat with a researcher, where before u chat to the researcher, you'll have to fill in a questionnaire, about singing experience and all that. Then after the researcher has tlkd to you, they'll give u a white sheet with details of ur next audition date and times. Go back on the specified date, and time, and then you'll have to wait around for a while (when I went for my second audition, I had to wait around 3 hours, then you'll be taken into a room, with (I had 2 producers at this stage) 2 producers, and then they'll ask u a couple of questions, and then ask you to sing a verse and chorus, (they might even ask u for 2, so my advice is to go prepared!) then they'll ethier say yes, ur thru, or say no... If they say yes to u a second time around, then it's a couple of mins (not even that) to gather ur thoughts, get urself calm and collected, and then it's straight to the judges! The very same day! (Please note that I am speaking from experience of the audition process last year) I do know that they've changed it slightly, and that this year the auditions were held in various football stadiums around the country. Maybe it'd be better to speak to another member on here who got further than I did (I didn't even make it past the 1st set of producers, so I don't really know what happens after this) Hope this helps, and that now you've got a breif idea of what happens at auditions on this scale! Cazzie xx
