I have been thinking about Dannii's song choice for Rhydian all week and I just couldn't imagine how he could pull this off.

But pull it off he did. He was charismatic, fun and original. He had real stage presence, which a lot of the other finalists from this year lack.

All the judges except for Louis seemed to love Rhyd as well, Louis thought he was over the top, but from someone as boring as Louis I would take that as a compliment.

This boy is growing on me, he did a good job, very entertaining and made it his own. Louis comments are not worth listening to he only likes his own or Sharons, except for Hope his new spice girls, enough said. Well done Rhydian.

Good intresting performance.

Changed some of the melodies, ascending operatic licks had some euphric moments.

But i would never play it out of choice and maybe he would leave me with headache.

Hes Flyin through and maybe he could release a record but i wouldnt buy it lol

No I would not buy his albums but he has surprised me, I hated him at boot camp and could not understand why Danni put him through,  but now he is interesting.

Yeh, he is interesting i'll give him that. I loved the band arrangement of pink's song. It was a fantastic entrance too.

My second favourite performance of the night (behind beverly)

I wouldn't buy his album either. Oh, and I hate his side burns. Was it just me that kept noticing them? They were the wrong colour - should have shaved them off or dyed them the same colour as his hair. They were very distracting which was quite an accomplishment considering all the sequins he was wearing!

With all the talk of 'seeing' people as recording artists tonight, we should go back to that question: is Rhydian even a viable recording artist? I don't think so.

He'd probably be alright in the theatre, but he won't win this competition. If he does, it'll be a travesty.

I disagree. I would like to see him win, purely because he is different. Not different like Chico, Rhydian is actually talented. I agree he might never be a huge recording artist, but he could really do well on the west end.

As a person he seems arrogant and annoying, but as a performer I think he excels.

He may be average as far as opera singers go, but to an untrained ear like mine he sounds fabulous. He has more than the voice though, he is dramatic....I like that.

This is what is the problem with this programme, it keeps on about recording artists but some of the acts they put through like Rhydian and Same Difference are very good to watch but would not have the same attraction if you just have to listen too them. A lot of talk tonight was about dancing, you would not see this if you are listening to them. So if it is all about being a recording artist why do they put people through who are not recording contract material even though they are talented.

I suppose a recording artist these days also has to have the rest of the package. They need to be able to make good videos, they need to be able to perform well on TV shows. Acts now can't sing well but look awkward or no one will have them on their TV shows and they won't be able to promote their music properly.

I think a lot of the songs tonight were not big band songs, Hanky Panky is a Madonna song, Reach by S Club 7, etc so if you are going to disqualify Rhydian for not singing a Big Band Song then a lot of others will follow. I think the purpose was to show that they could sing with a Big Band.
