Well, what did everyone think?
It wasn't quite what I thought it would be, but having been spoiled a bit, it wasn't that big a disappointment to learn it wasn't a daughter he already knew about. Still, I love how they show the Doctor warming up to her. I also had the nagging suspicion she was gong to be killed off. I was right, sort of. The only thing that did sort of puzzle me was why she didn't die. I would have thought it would make more sense if she just regenerated. I was hoping they were going to do that. Still, the ending was a nice surprise for me. I loved her character and look forward to seeing more of her again. (Yes, I have a feeling she will bump into the Doctor once again.)

I don't know about you Jeffrey, but I smell a spin-off series! What a babe, loved the big eyelashes - very retro!

Yes, I'm a bit surprised that 'Jenny' didn't regenerate, but perhaps that's explained by the fact that she's a clone and perhaps you've got to allow for some deviation. I mean, The Doctor himself said she didn't have a fraction of the shared history and beliefs of the Gallifreyans having been pre-programmed by the cloning machine for battle. I'll put it this way, it leaves some nice unanswered questions, doesn't it?

I really enjoyed the storyline though, with Donna once again proving that she can bring her office skills into play, even in deep space. Martha has improved tenfold since her original appearances, but I just felt she was in the way in this episode. Sort of surplus to requirements? She was great with the Hath, but 2-3 days later and I'm trying to remember what her contribution to the storyline was.

As much as I fell in love with the Doctors daughter, I would fear another spin-off series. How awesome to have her as a companion in the future though?

As for Martha, I agree, what was the point? Unless they are just setting it up for Jenny to meet up with Martha on Earth. That's the only thing I can think of. The bits with Martha outside were really pointless. In the end Martha was responsible for her companions death. She coaxed him out, then was careless and allowed him to die. I felt really ripped off by that bit, despite her sobbing bit.

The way she blasted off into space with a big wide grin on her face, circling the planet in a wide arc, just made me think "here's a fiesty female space adventurer". She'd be great as a lone character AND a great role model for young girls. They don't have too many female sci-fi characters. Personally, I think she'd be great, but each spin-off series dilutes the brand and takes a little bit away from Doctor Who.

That all being said, I can't wait to see her again. And I know we will. There is too much potential here for them NOT to do anything with her again. I'm seeing her return next year in one of the Doctor Who specials.
