Does anyone remember the 'V' mini-series of the mid-80's? Well it's now going to be a new series this fall. It's supposed to be a re-imagining of the story so if you never saw the 80's version no worries. Check out the trailer - do you see who I see?

I really loved the story and the special effects back then, I can only imagine how good this is going to be now. Unless they totally change everything.

I LOVED V, even though I was quite young at the time. I will never forget Diana eating the rat....eugh!

I don't know who's picked it up in the UK yet, but I hope we're not too far behind the US with this one.

There are more spoilers and clips here

We watched V when they ran a repeat of it a few years back, and we're looking forward to the new series. Especially since that girl from Firefly is playing the alien liaison!

From the trailer I've seen, the series is really going to benefit from modern special effects too!

Gerard, not forget that 'Juliet' is playing the resistance leader.
I just hope they don't change everything and keep most of the characters. I hated the re-imagined Battlestar Galactica because of too many changes. Starbuck bing a girl, Boomer being a girl, Boomer being Asian, Boomer being a Cyclon,  Cyclons being androids. They lost me because they tried to change everything that made Battlestar, Battlestar. Hope 'V' learns from this.

I get your point, Jeff, but at the same time, I can barely remember the characters in V, so I suspect that won't make a massive difference to me. I can only vaguely remember the storyline, so any changes probably won't phase me.

I hope they do make it slightly different as i still remember the old one. That was one of my all time favourites as a teen.

I'm just afraid that will be the theory to draw in a new crowd. The only problem I have with that is isolating the fanbase that made it popular in the first place.

The first few episodes of 'V' have really been good. Very surprising as far as I'm concerned. Sure the characters aren't the same, but the premise is spot-on. I give this new attempt an 'A', and I don't usually like remakes very well.
