Deary Me. Could this be any more contrived?
I'm all for the lad getting his ewok-like face out there and reminding us that he still exists but really?

The Quigg fanclub of hormonal teenage girls will most likely fall for this as it's a catchy pop tune that actually contains a line that goes "Youtube, Myspace, Facebook, IM." It's  a bit rediculous to be honest.

When are X Factor contestants going to begin having a word in edgeways about what they are putting out? Unless this was his idea, in which case maybe it's better just letting professionals do the work.  Huh

Have a listen:

I totally agree with you on this one - it sounds like it was written by someone much older who doesn't understand the Internet. And how can someone whose Bebo page drew in fans during X Factor suddenly start criticising those type of websites?

Dull.

And whats he trying to say? That he want's attention from some girl, but she stays in all day on social networking sites?

Whatever, it's gonna make some quick cash - and really thats all they care about at the end of the day anyways...

Funny you should mention Busted, one of the lads from the band wrote the song.

i think its a bit of a cah in to be honest, if its a sign of things to come I don't hold out too much hope for Eoghan.

Spoke to Eoghan a couple of hours ago. He says he's done that track and a cover of the Jonas Brothers' When You Look Me In The Eyes, so he's definitely aiming in the direction of post-Busted pop rock.

In fairness, he's a really nice guy (aren't they all when you get speaking to them?), but he doesn't have much to say on his musical direction which worried me. He simply said he wanted to do something along the lines of Busted.

I don't want to jump on that comment, but isn't this why X Factor contestants fail? Are they so hungry for the record deal that when they get there they don't have any creative control OR desire to have that control.

Yeah, I mean... at the end of the day... a lot of X Factor contestants, when faced with the prospect of even a chance at getting a record deal often agree to anything!

Just think about the "contract" they had last year... thou shall not say nasty things about thee Cowell (or something like that!).

At the end of the day, if I was offered a record deal but in return had to sing crappy songs (no offence to anyone) I'd probably take it!

Hello everybody,

Well I think this is the real reason why Alexandra Burke refused the chance to work with Lionel Richie. As she feared that she had insufficient experience of the live music gig environment to her name.  All she had was the X factor heats.

Now it turns out she has some guidelines as to the direction she wants to go with her music based upon those who have already done it via a different route.

Maybe the X factor should ask for gig singers only to apply and the programme could follow their route for say 6 months before holding a competition.

This way the singers would pick up more repertoire and experience which is what is missing from the programme.

It'll never happen Maureen, because the X Factor relies strongly on someone being plucked from obscurity. The idea that one of the public can audition and be a star is alluring.

Yours is a good idea though, but we're all been wishing that X Factor would be more selective in their candidates.

Now, I'm not saying Eoghan is talentless - far from it, he clearly is a good entertainer. I just worry that trailing a teenager through this process, giving them substandard songs in the hope of catching a few quick album sales is a bad thing for him. If he ever had a shot at long term fame, releasing a McDonalds quality album isn't the way to do it. (That's McDonalds in terms of fast food - low quality, pushed out to the customer within five minutes of order).

that explains it then  Cheesy
perhaps thats the direction he's aiming for...Busted were quite successful, and maybe he wants to be a mini version of them  Huh

Hello Gerard,

This is such sad news really that the music revolution that has taken place over the last 25 years courtesy of increased technology gives us more rubbish.

It is my personal opinion that sometimes an album is released with one catchy song on it and then the rest is fillers.

Sometimes you might have your hopes built up about an artist and the track you have heard and once you get the CD home, spend time looking for other redeeming features and find nothing.

I am beginning to think that maybe we need a revolution in the way we buy our music CD's and the choices we get with them.

I'm thinking here of "joint album deals", for example Couldn't Diana and Eoughan have done an album together. 5 tracks to Diana and 5 tracks to Eoughan with 2 duets. The Cd could be enhanced with some X factor coverage and a video of one of the duets.

maureen you dont necessarily have to buy an album in hard copy - the revolutionary way of buying your album's already exists with itunes, its 79p per song, you dont have to buy the full album if you dont want to, you could easily by a few songs from all your favourite different artists for a tenner or so, download them to a playlist and burn to cd - voila, your very own album of your favourite songs. that way there are none of the 'fillers' you dislike.

Hello yummymummy,

You are so right. I'm just a bit of an old fashioned fart sometimes and feel cheated when I buy CD's.  Maybe I come to expect to much from the new age.

As years ago in the days of Vinyl the same used to happen then but nobody was prepared to admit to it. 1 maybes 2 or even 3 good tracks the rest were fillers.

I think one good reason we all expect better is because of the actual counter price of a new CD, I do think they are over priced.

I mean supermarkets can sell a CD for less than 10 pounds the music shop price could be 12.99 14.99 sometimes even higher for the same CD.
