I'm sure everyone will have their own input in this game - for me personally it's gonna be hard to pick just 10 essential albums.

So come on, guys. If you were Channel 4 or a bigshot writer for NME, what would be the "10 Albums You *Must* Own"Huh

My Top 10 goes like this:-

1. Futurism - Felix Da Housecat, Miss Kitten, LadyTron...you get the idea. It's obviously a compilation.

2. 40oz To Freedom - Sublime

Joint #3 - Twisted/Hatful of Rain - the Best of - Del Amitri

Joint # - Misundaztood/I'm Not Dead - Pink

5.  The Bends - Radiohead

6. Speakerbox/The Love Below - Outkast

7. Get Cape, Wear Cape, Fly - self-titled

8. Jagged Little Pill - Alannis Morrissette

9. Bat Out Of Hell - Meatloaf.

I just couldn't fit em all in the top 10, but I have to give special mentions to Prince's Diamonds & Pearls, 30 Seconds to Mars's A Beautiful Lie, the City of Angels, Top Gun, Days of Thunder, Breakfast Club, Girls Just Want To Have Fun, Footloose and Flashdance soundtracks, Peaches' The Teaches of Peaches and Travis's The Man Who.

1) Life for rent- Dido
2) War of the worlds- Jeff wayne.
3) Queen- greatest hits 1 and 2
4) Abba- Gold-( which I'm going to have to ban myself listening too , because I have to learn a huge abba melody mix that I think lasts for like 15 mins, that I have to learn in Barbershop Baritone, I recon its going to be a real Bugger to master)
5) Everly Bros -History

6) I agree on Meatloaf-Bat out of hell
7) Oasis-1998 the very best
Cool UB40-the best
9) U2-best of the 80s-90s
10) The Proclaimers-Best of

Also like the Eurythmics greatest hit(but not every song on it)
I have loads of compilation albums of 60-love lol.

Pink I only know two of yours, isnt it amazing what difference 12-13 years makes to someones music tastes.

Crikey, good question Pink. I've never thought long and hard about my essential albums, but here's a rough attempt

1) At least one Jimi Hedrix album - possibly Axis: Bold As Love
2) Led Zeppelin - either III or IV
3) Joni Mitchell - either Ladies Of The Canyon or Blue
4) Metallica - Kill 'Em All/Master Of Puppets/Ride The Lightning
5) Pearl Jam - Ten (very good choice)
6) Guns N Roses - Appetite For Destruction
7) Extreme - Extreme/Pornografitti (I would say III Sides Mel, but it was *slightly* OTT for my taste - still a great album though)
Cool Iron Maiden - Edward The Great (yet another Greatest Hits package, but Number Of The Beast still gives me chills)
9) Motley Crue - Decade Of Decadance - I still listen to this in my car today
10) The Jayhawks or a Tracy Chapman album for the purposes of just chilling out.

I'm sure there's much much more I could suggest. I tend to gravitate toward old rock and metal, although I love a lot more music than that.
