Welcome to the Unreality TV Forum.

If you're considering signing up for the forum, here's a video showing how to register.

If you're a new user, or you want to learn more about how to use the forum, we've collected some tutorials and information in this thread. Hopefully these will help you get the most out of the forum so that you can enjoy your time here. If you have any questions about how to use the forum, leave me a reply here.

I'm happy to write new tutorials on request. Anything to help you folks out Smiley

Using The Forum

  • Introduce Yourself - before you do anything else, introduce yourself. You'll meet loads of friendly folk there, and you're guaranteed a warm welcome!
  • How to keep your finger on the pulse. This post shows you how to find new topics and how to find replies to comments you've made.
  • Posting YouTube videos. This post shows you how to insert a YouTube video in your posts. It even features some of our very talented users showcasing their talents.
  • Making Friends. The forum has a 'buddies' feature that allows you to mark other people as friends. Then you can see when your friends are on the forum for chats.
  • Get email notifications. You can get notified by email when people respond to you on the forum. This is a handy little feature to keep you up to date with conversations you're involved in.

Guidance and Tips

  • Tips for writing good post titles. You're more likely to get replies on your topics if your titles are clear. We have some tips for writing great titles here.
  • How to tell if your posts are popular. Ties in with the title advice above, and shows you how to make your topics more popular.
  • Karma - what is it and how does it work?
  • Becoming a hero member - here's how to build up your account in the forum and what senior and hero members are.

Acceptable Use

Unreality Forum is a friendly enough place, so we don't set many rules. Just keep the conversation friendly and normally everyone gets along.

Every now and then, an argumentative soul comes along and tries to start arguments. In forum-speak, they're called Trolls. We have a zero-tolerance policy for these people - troublemakers get banned. Simple as that.

One more thing: we have a linking policy to prevent people abusing the forum to promote their own sites. If you're press/media or a journalist, we have a special board for you.

Any Questions?

Well, did I leave anything out? If you've got any questions about the forum or its features, please do let me know...

There is one thing however petty but; I was wondering about the starring system ?

I know that 0-49 is Newbie... but what after that ? is there a post that states this type of thing ?

The Star system relates to the amount of posts you've submitted, but otherwise doesn't matter - if you're a member and you've submitted 5 posts, fab! You're still contributing. If you are a member and have submitted over 1000 posts like myself, then you probably spend too much time here - you need to get out more. Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy For those of you who don't know, here's how the Star System works...

1-49 Posts = Newbie

50-149 Posts (I think - please correct me if I'm wrong!) = Junior Member

150-249 Posts = Senior Member

250-500+ posts = Hero Member

Hell, I was sure I'd replied to this thread. Looks like I forgot to post! I checked out the forum settings and there's a slight modification to Pink's response -

1-49 Posts = Newbie
50-149 Posts (I think - please correct me if I'm wrong!) = Junior Member
150-249 Posts = Full Member
250-500+ posts = Senior Member
500+ = Hero Member

Obviously, everybody wants to be a hero member...

About this starring system, it currently goes up to 5 stars and you need 500 to get to it. Maybe you could alter the settings to go beyond this. You can get 6 and 7 star hotels now, so why not have 6 and 7 star members. Just say 6 star members need to have 2500 posts and 7 star members need to have 5000 posts (which I believe no-one has so it will be a good challenge to get people to post more). Obviously you would have to think of a better name than hero member for 6 and 7 star members. Just an idea Grin

If it's not already mentioned I'd like to add...

How to change your username and email address - also how to hide your email address from public view

To edit your account please goto PROFILE> then in the menu go to MANAGE PROFILE > Click on "Account Related Settings"... You should then see a option to change your Username, email address and hide your email address... aswell as other features. To save the changes scroll to the bottom, enter your current password and click 'CHANGE PROFILE'.

Hope this helps. If anyone wants to write it clearer please feel free. Smiley
