The flip side of these celebs.
by khoustello on: October 05, 2009, 11:58:32 AM »

::)got an e-mail from a "Jennifer" regarding a Mr Brian Mc Fadden allegedly a former "singer" with a group of stratospherically talented people .
This man in his own words married Kerry because a certain glossy promised both these "celebs"a huge sum of money-yep they married for the cash.Of course this man never knew she inhaled "chalk dust-yep I believe him.
These are the sort of people who inhabit celebland-a vast expanse of "showbusiness types" who operate in a parallel world where we the "civilians"should be grateful for the pathetic "stories" they feed to the papers and the voracious, vile "glossys".In conclusion one is as rotten as the other.

The thing is, these glossies sell so well that celebs will always be offered silly money to tell all in them.  The less talented celebs (lord knows there are plenty of them about) will jump at the chance of easy money, when many real, talented 'celebs' will be doing their stuff for a whole lot less, and probably have better principles so won't be selling any seedy details.   A large section of the public will always (mostly unwittingly) feed the habit of the Z listers. Meh.   Huh

This is a good topic,  Khoustello. If you don't mind, though, I'm going to move it to Celebrity Chat - I think it will get more replies there.

It's quite true though - Steve Brookstein said exactly the same thing - his management wanted him and his girlfriend to get engaged just to create something newsworthy. As it turns out, the couple did eventually get married, but after he'd parted company with Simon Cowell and at a time that suited them.

Probably the most depressing aspect of this is what Rosie said above - people seem to be so gullible that they'll buy the magazines anyway. I mean, there's a whole industry spawned around boring celebrity gossip and people are so taken in by the glamour that they never question whether it's true or false.

And have you noticed these days that the magazines in doctor's, dentist's, etc., waiting rooms are made up mostly of back copies of OK, Hello, etc.?   There's an absolute stack of them in my dentist's waiting room!   Grin

Yeah, and they're usually at least 8 months old from what I remember. You're asking yourself "I thought she had her baby?" and then realise you're reading Heat from last May.

Ha ha!  I thought Katie and Peter looked too happy on the one I was reading.    Grin

I'd like to be able to walk in the newsagents without seeing Katie Prices face everywhere, I don't think there is a day goes past without her in the paper or a week without being in the magazines.

Yes, it really is becoming a drag, isn't it?  She must be raking it in.
